Calgary Marathi Association is a registered non-profit organization that brings together Marathi-speaking people in Calgary and surrounding areas through culture, service, education, and community connection.

Our purpose

CMA preserves and promotes Marathi culture by creating opportunities for families, youth, seniors, newcomers, volunteers, artists, and community partners to participate in meaningful programs and celebrations.

Our work is rooted in togetherness, respect, inclusion, and the belief that community grows stronger when everyone has a place to contribute.

Objectives

  • Endorse events that strengthen Marathi heritage, culture, and festivities.
  • Support initiatives that promote and preserve the Marathi language, including Marathi schools in and around Calgary.
  • Create culture-specific entertainment and social gathering opportunities for members.
  • Embraces diversity and inclusion by encouraging participation from artists representing a wide range of cultures and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Educate younger generations about the cultural heritage of India and Maharashtra through activities and programs.
  • Engage youth through Paalavi leadership opportunities that build life skills, confidence, and volunteerism.
  • Support senior members through Samadhan initiatives.
  • Help newcomers transition into community life and participate in CMA activities.
  • Promote participation in charity initiatives with community and charitable organizations.
  • Conduct educational and skill development programs open to members.
