Bruhan Maharashtra Mandal (BMM) unites more than 60 Marathi Mandals across the United States and Canada, preserving and celebrating Marathi language, culture, heritage, and values on a global scale.

Founded on this vision, BMM is dedicated to preserving, promoting, and celebrating Marathi language, culture, heritage, and values, serving as a common platform for collaboration among Marathi Mandals across North America.
Through its programs and partnerships, BMM strengthens the bond between Maharashtra and Marathi communities living across the world, including here in Calgary.

BMM Biennial Convention & Network
Every two years, BMM organizes one of the world’s largest gatherings of Marathi people outside India through its prestigious convention, bringing together thousands of participants for cultural performances, educational seminars, literary events, youth activities, and professional networking. Throughout the year, BMM also supports local Marathi Mandals by providing guidance, resources, and opportunities for collaboration
Educational & Demographically Targeted Programs
BMM’s impact extends far beyond conventions through its diverse year-round initiatives. It promotes Marathi language education through Marathi Shala, helping younger generations learn to speak, read, and write Marathi while staying connected to their roots. It encourages youth leadership by creating opportunities for leadership development, volunteering, innovation, and networking. BMM also actively engages senior citizens, creating platforms that foster community participation and intergenerational connections.
Cultural Preservation & Community Service
BMM supports initiatives that preserve and promote Marathi literature, theatre, music, dance, folk arts, and cultural heritage, ensuring these traditions continue to flourish among future generations. The organization also promotes community service and philanthropy, encouraging Marathi Mandals to contribute meaningfully to society through charitable, educational, environmental, and humanitarian efforts.
