The Calgary Marathi Association (CMA) is a registered non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and celebrating Marathi culture in Calgary and the surrounding areas. We bring together Marathi-speaking individuals and families to foster a strong, connected, and vibrant community.

For over 40 years, CMA has thrived through the continued support of our members and thousands of volunteer hours. What began as a cultural and social platform has grown into a dynamic organization offering a wide range of opportunities—cultural, educational, and community-focused.

More about the Marathi language:
Marathi (मराठी) is an Indo-Aryan language spoken by the Marathi people of western and central India. It is the official language of the state of Maharashtra.

With over 90 million fluent speakers worldwide, Marathi ranks as the fourth most spoken native language in India and the fifteenth most spoken language globally. It also boasts one of the oldest literary traditions among modern Indo-Aryan languages, with roots dating back to around 1000 AD.
